Customer Review: corel products are trash compared to Microsoft PictureIt
Summary: 1 Stars

Corel gives meaning to the phrase "user unfriendly". Just try to figure out how to take a photo that is one half of a scene, a photo that is the other half of the scene, and merge them together so that you can't tell they were two separate photos. This is important when taking photos with a microscope when the field of view is limited. With Microsoft PictureIt, doing this sort of thing is easy. Corel has pull-down items such as "raster" and so on. People who want to use photo-editing products seldom know what these terms mean and there is no reason that they should have to go looking it up somewhere. It is the JOB of the product to make these things easy to do. In sum, COREL is terrible and they are arrogant and insulting on the telephone when you complain. Just mention their competitor's name and see what happens! I just now came from another of the numerous crashes and/or hangups that COREL specializes in. Get used to "You chose to end the unresponsive program...", because when you're in the middle of using COREL, it is likely to happen sooner or later and often enough. The programmers don't know what they are doing. Get used to seeing freezes, crashes, hangups, and other amateurish outcomes that the professionals at Microsoft don't subject their customers to. And an often-seen window indeed is the one that asks if you want to send information about the Corel-caused crash to Microsoft, which is deliciously ironic. Don't do it. Just let Corel's products die their deserved, unnatural deaths.

Customer Review: Corel - Bonus Pack only $20 value not $200
Summary: 1 Stars

I owned previous versions of this program and I feel ripped off on this one. Corel is not JASC. When JASC owned the program you felt that you got a nice program at a good price - they even sent out a news letter with free picture tubes, frames and tips. Now I feel ripped off. Corel advertised that you get a "Over $200 Value" if you purchased the ultimate version. Not true. The USB drive is cheap plastic, You get a trial version of Painter Essentials 4 - The upgrade is 35.00 + shipping. The Media Recovery Software you can download from the web for free. A Background Remover is included in most other photo programs for free and the Creative Content Pack is junk. You might like them if your five. I think they took the ones no one wanted and put them with this package - you have to download them on install, they're not on the disk. The last version I was happy with was JASC Version 8, it was great, but It didn't operate on Vista so I thought I would upgrade after my PC died. As to the Corel program it is a little different. Some of the features are nice but the dark interface is terrible I have large monitor and It's still hard on the eyes luckily it can be changed to the lighter interface through the view menu. Overall I haven't noticed that much new or useful for me. I wish I hadn't bought this package because it doesn't have the quality or customer service it use to have. I'm changing to Serif's PhotoPlus - it has similar features and if you need help they don't charge you to ask a question or more. Corel charges $15 and of course there is no money back guarantee.

Customer Review: Great Product, Difficult Install
Summary: 3 Stars

This is a great product, especially for folks on a budget. I use Photoshop at work; I'm finding that Paint Shop Pro Ultimate Photo X2 does lots of the things that Numero Uno does - and I have just begun exploring it!

A caveat, however: The install can be a bear, especially for someone who does not want to mess with a computer's inner workings. The install hung several times, even after I had updated my video card driver and software, which took quite some time (70+ MB download). (Also, don't forget to turn off your antivirus software when you do any upgrades or install the program.)

I give this one three stars, only because of the install problems. Otherwise I would have given it five stars

lots of information in this product. I have not taken time to learn it all but the quick fix works well. Also liked picking a part of a photo to focus while fading out the rest of the photo. Fun

Customer Review: DON'T BUY IT. Defective DVD and bad customer support
Summary: 1 Stars

The DVD I received was defective so I could not complete the installation. I tried with the customer support but when you call them you understand that this company is not interested in the customers more than to sell them their products.
