Software Reviews of Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2

Customer Review: Junk
Summary: 1 Stars

I use Vista and Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 is the only software that I have problems with. Quick launch icon doesn't work half the time, or it can't find my photo files. Just sucks. Waste of time and frustrating.

Customer Review: Corel Finds Sucess with PSP Photo X2
Summary: 5 Stars

I've used Adobe and Corel products together for years.

Last night I uninstalled Photoshop Elements because I'm quite satisfied to use Corel's Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 as my sole photo editor.

Yep! It's that good. Very stable. Attractive front end. Easy to use! That's what sold me. Who wants to trudge through the manuals for hours learning how to use something these days?

The second most important factor in my decision was the price. I like Adobe, but come on...get real. It might be one thing to bilk the big businesses with those big prices for software, but have a heart on Joe Citizen...please! Remember, we don't get all those Obama incentives and stimulus packages at my house.

And as an added bonus Corel includes a great photo organizer that won't have you pulling out your hair or spending all day locating a picture of the kids.

Still wondering...well did you know that you can download it for free and try a full version (not crippled) for 30 days to see if you like it as I do.

You can't beat a deal like that.

Customer Review: Does not open Nikon D90 RAW images, other than that, it is as expected
Summary: 3 Stars

Not having the money for Photoshop or Lightroom, I purchased this software for the watermark and light touch ups. The Corel website lists most of the Nikon cameras as being supported, but not the D90 and newer. I took the chance that since the images are the same *.nef that it would open, and they do not. I use the nikon view software to convert to *.tiff and then use PSP, not too difficult and it opens images a little faster. I convert the photos I need and work from there. Still getting used to the software, so that will come in time. It has most of the features I need, I just don't yet know how to use all of them.

Customer Review: Still no T1i raw support
Summary: 1 Stars

There is still no support for the Canon T1i RAW format. Apparently they've been busy working on a pointless "Ultimate Edition" instead of making the current version usable by people who have popular current DSLRs like the T1i. It doesn't look like the "Ultimate Edition" supports the T1i either (how Ultimate is that?). It has been almost a year since they have released any patch. At this point I am not even expecting to see an update at all. They'll probably update RAW support in the next version and then try to get me to buy an upgrade. I guess I'll be looking for a new (non-Corel) application for this.

Customer Review: good for basic user
Summary: 4 Stars

I have used Kodac easy share, windows media photo gallery and photo explosion deluxe 3.0, this is by far my fav program to use. This program has many great options such as camera noise reducer, cloning, smart fix, cropping, fade corrector, watermarking and many other great effects. It seems simple for a basic user, it did take me reading the manual to do some things and watching the video that comes with the program. However others have commented that they were able to play around with the program and figure things out. I think it depends on how computer savy you are. I really love this program for what i use it for, which is basic photo corrections and restoration. but I think I will need to buy the more advance book to truely use the program to its full potential.
